FAQs
ImageTank is a macOS image-processing software package under development that aims to offer advanced features for image processing and analysis.
ImageTank supports various bitmap-based formats, including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, and GIF. The program can also be used for high-resolution images and multi-channel images. It can analyze time-series images and image stacks, for so-called 5D image analysis.
ImageTank features a pipeline approach, undo/redo functionality, and non-destructive editing. The pipeline approach allows users to change settings at any step, making the process flexible and efficient. It also enables step-by-step inspection of intermediate results.
You need a computer with macOS. That can be a laptop or a desktop, but you do not need a specialized workstation.
ImageTank utilizes threaded and asynchronous execution to fully utilize modern multi-core machines. Tasks are performed concurrently, and complex tasks are further divided among cores. This ensures that ImageTank can maximize performance, even on laptops, providing a significant speed advantage.
