I’m wondering if there’s a way to only have tick marks, no numbers or labels, for an axis?
If you hide the default axis, using the check boxes on the right side of the Axis settings, then you can add an Extra Axis command which has more options.
Specifically, there is a drawing style option for tick marks only:

Is this what you mean?
Actually, sorry. If I have a magnification view displayed it mirrors the x-axis but I still want it to have axis numbers.
Is this possible?
No problem!
Here is how you do that …
First, I set up an example using the ‘Random walk’ example file.
Here are the commands drawing this, where the Extra Axis command Drawing style is set to ‘Only ticks’.
Also circled in blue is a little interactive icon that is used to specify where the command is drawn, for the Magnification command. The default setting is to draw in both the graphic and and the inset.
To get this look:
- Click to select the Extra Axis command you already created.
- Command-C to copy, and Command-V to paste, to create a second Extra Axis command.
- Change the Drawing Style on the second Extra Axis command to ‘Standard’.
- Click the icon to only show this new command in the magnify view, as shown below.
Is this what you wanted to do?
