      All –

I am still a new guy here but I do understand orbital mechanics pretty well. I needed to plot data and looked around until I found DataGraph – it works.

I just had a story published and used DataGraph, other users might be interested. I think that I have a simple use but would like to move into calculating slopes of lines and applying those values.

Congratulations on your article!  Very detailed work and looks like you are getting some nice feedback.

And of course, thanks for your recognition of DataGraph.  Glad we could help you on this 🙂

P.S. I wonder if the editor would allow you to re-submit your images as SVG files.  This is the best format for web publishing.  On my retina screen your graphs have a slight amount of fuzziness.  With SVG they would be completely crisp.

Colleagues – About the looks of the article. Unfortunately, the interface between writer and the site is not great. Jeff Foust runs the site but he insists on us submitting articles as Word files with embedded graphics. If you read the article you can see that he made some mistakes with the way I did my footnotes and the tables look amateurish. Jeff does this as hobby so I can’t complain.

I am now looking at two things – how to get the slope of the lines (they are due to the precession rate of the orbit) and also at some analytical reasons for the precession rates. More about that as I make progress. I am visiting Space Command next week (in Colorado, its gonna be crisp) and will talk to some very well respected orbital mechanics people there.

          Charles
