Scalar field in DG 5.0

When graphs with a scalar field, made in 4.7, opens in 5.0 a big part of the scalar field is blurred out and there are no contour lines in the blurred parts. There seems to be clear cut in each graph where this occurs. What to do?

Sounds like the Refine option is not checked.  Please look at the example file we just uploaded for the volcano data set. The first graph does not have refine checked and you can see each grade location.

The subsequent graphs have the refine option turned on which smooths the grid.  There are also contours and a color ramp.

It would be great to confirm that what you’re seeing in DataGraph matches the images I uploaded.  I would also recommend checking to see if the refine box is selected in your image.

If the file we posted looks OK to you and the refine checkbox is selected in your file, you might want to send a file to us with this problem. Go under the Help menu within DataGraph and select the option to email us.

It is checked. The graph in 4.7 is perfect, when opened in 5.o parts of the graph, not the whole, is blurred and the contour lines and values disappears in the blurred part. There seems to be clear horisontal division in the graph where everything below a certain point on the y-axis is blurred and lose all contour, lines and values. I’ve made about 10 different graphs with the scalar field command in 4.7, they are all perfect. ALL are blurred below some point in the graph in  5.0.

This is a bug and strange that it wasn’t found earlier.

Will be fixed in the next beta which should be out soon.

First of all,  thanks for the software overall and quick support in this matter. OK, so any idea when that will be out? I am in need to make some new scalar field graphs in the coming weeks. Please keep me informed when I can access this. I bought DG from the Mac App Store. Is it still possible to get the bug-fixed beta anyway?

I uploaded a new version this morning.

For the Mac App store version, go to DataGraph->Account Info and set up an account. That should automatically register the machine you have so that you can run the beta version.

It both fixes the issue you had and adds a check box to compute smooth contours.
