One my interests is in satellites, and I use Datagraph to analyse some of the orbits. I was able to speak at a conference yesterday and Datagraph was very handy in preparing my results. I am just providing a link the the program, the plots are pretty simple.

I spoke at 1600 on Sep 28. Pardon me for saying this but my Chinese colleagues should have used Datagraph to make their plots (similar to mine) look better.

What are we discussing? Where are the graphs?

I could dig one out but I have posted very similar ones here before, I plot various orbital parameters for satellites. The graphs are very simple but the reasoning behind them can take a while to explain. One of the things I plot is Right Ascension of Ascending Node (an angle describing orbits) for various satellites to tell me several things. Among them – might two satellites be from the same launch?

Here is an earlier post with a pretty good example of one of my plots:

Thanks, saw the plots and read your article. You need to increase the resolution on your plots and it makes sense to move the legend to the plot field. Right now the charts don’t look very tidy))) And I wouldn’t recommend using EPS format. I only use pdf, svg and sometimes png…

What I need to do is look at my articles and plots on a PC, they frequently display things differently than the Mac. I only develop and write on Macs and need to see how most of the world sees them.

My expertise is orbital analysis and NOT the finer points of making articles, etc look right. There is a lot to learn and darn little time.

I think you’ll agree: any job has to be done well. And good results can easily be ruined by poor presentation)))))))))

Charles – Glad DataGraph is continuing to come in handy for you 🙂

One way to improve your output is to increase the resolution at the time your export. Here is more information:

How to export an image from DataGraph

Use 144 for example to have retina output.
