Exporting notes

I am really enjoying the new pop up notes feature, but I think it would really shine if the notes that are associated with data columns could some how be included in an export of the data. I know the specifics of the data, but when I export to share with colleagues, they are the ones who would truly benefit from the information. I could see them being exported as comments associated with the title cell in an excel file, or perhaps as an additional cell’s contents directly after the title of a column in a csv. file.

We added a feature to the Beta, when exporting data to Excel, to export the notes into a new tab, called Notes.

For example, here are two columns with notes.

If you use File > Export Data and select Excel as the output format.  There will be one tab for the data and one tab for the notes in a table format.

 

This is slightly different than the suggestion, but hopefully provides the information you need.   Let us know what you think.

This is a good solution. I will try it out on the Beta, and see if it works technically, but in concept it solves my problem.
