Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to make a subplot only with the left y-axis.

I know it can be done by composition, but I prefer to use the split/join axis as it gives you more direct control.

However, if I split y-axis, then it does not allow me to position two y-axis at left simultaneously.

What I want to do is something like this figure:

The Y-axis of all subplots is located on the left side.

      Thanks for your help!

We just uploaded an example to DG that has these graphs …

        Same Axes

This is the same data as above but the blue line is scaled (both data and axes labels).  This gives the look of independent axes.

This file can be access under File/Online Examples.

Is this close to what you were looking for?

Thanks for the online example. Can I also know how to set a label name for y-axis vertically oriented?

            Try this…

You can use a Text command with the following settings.

            TextCommand

We added an additional graph to the prior On-line example to demonstrate.

            With Y labels

Note that you may have to add some space so the labels don’t overlap the graphs.  This is discussed it the file.
