LaTeX fonts are not shown properly on axis labels.

I put the original $\rho_i$ taken from LaTeXiT next to the x-axis label for comparison.

Is there a way to apply the LaTeX font to labels?

This example shows the worse case: now some of them are in the LaTeX font while the greek letters are not.

The LaTeX font that is formatted for the system does not have the greek characters included, so they are being submitted with a different font, which is why they don’t look quite right.

We have not looked into this for a while, but will investigate how we can get the symbols looking proper.

I believe there may be a computer modern font that you can add to your system that you can use as an alternative.  Let me check on the details and get back to you …

We have spent some more time on this and have uploaded a file to the On-line Examples that compares some font options.

                  LatinModernMath-3

Depending on the fonts you have installed you may see something different.  One of the fonts demonstrated is Latin Modern Math.

You can download the Latin Modern Math from here.  In the download folder, look for the file ‘latinmodern-math.otf’.  Double click the file and the font manager should allow you to install.

Here is a graphic we made in DataGraph that demonstrates Latin Modern Math.

                  LatinModernMath2

Here an example with the equation …

                  LatinModernMath-1

The problem with this character set is that the italic characters are not set up in the standard way, so you don’t see those as an option. This is too bad since for equations that is typically what you want.

Another option is a font called STIX.  This is most likely in your system and we have a graphic set up to compare that as well, since it has italic as an option. This is designed for math/technical documentation.

So this is not a complete solution but hopefully gives you some more options until we can figure out a better way.

Great! Thank you for providing a detailed example!

Hi, I hope you are doing well in this uncertain time.

I’m revisiting this post to check whether there has been an update regarding this issue.

I’ve been using the temporary workarounds presented above, but I want LaTeX font for greek letters to be supported eventually.

                      Thanks!

                        Hi,

I am also facing same problem.  LaTeX fonts for greek letter are not consistent with my actual LaTeX file.  I have adopted the proposed workaround but it is not ideal.  Is there any plan to improve this in DataGraph.

                        Thanks,
                        Kourosh
