Sounds like the program crashed and might be trying to open a version of the file in a inappropriate state.
Try the following steps to remove any outstanding saved states.
1 – Open the Finder
2 – Select Go > Go to Folder (OR Shift-Command-G)
3 – Enter ~/Library/Saved Application State/
4 – Hit “Go”.
4 – Look for ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.visualdatatools.datagraph.savedState/
If this folder exists, select and hit delete, removing the entire folder and its contents. This will prevent the program from trying to open files that were open when it crashed.
5 – Reboot the computer and then open DataGraph
Given that the file seem to be changing, as you were working with it, make sure you don’t have more than one copy of DataGraph open. Or if you were working in the cloud, make sure you don’t have the same file open on more than one computer. The *.dgraph file format is a package file and is actually a series of folders. This is an apple standard that is not always handled well on things like OneDrive, so it could be a syncing issue.
If you continue to have problems and get an error message, please send us the screenshot of that message. You can post it here or email us “help at visualdatatools.com”. You could also email us the file itself to see if we can open the file.
I would also recommend you have the most current version of the DataGraph Beta on your computer.
FYI – If this is a cloud syncing issue, in the next version of DataGraph, we have a single file format option “*.dgraphs”. This is also in the Beta.
