Contour line & Heatmap

Is there a way to generate a contour line or a heat map on DataGraph?

You can use the Scalar field command to generate heat maps and draw basic contour lines on those maps.  This is a command that we have been developing.  Download the beta version to try it out.

The help documentation has several examples to show what the command can do.  Check out the Volcano example for a heat map with contours.

You can specify the contour location by entering a comma separated list into the command.  For example, here the contours are shown at 150 and 180.

 

Or you can specify the contour locations using the menu to select a column of values, as shown below.

 

Are any of the examples we have posted similar to what you would like do?

This is great! I will give it a try with the beta version. Are you planning to include this feature in the next release?

The next release will probably just include some minor fixes (4.5.1).

The next major release after that, we would like to include this feature.

It helps us to have users test in the beta to make sure it is working properly and has the needed features.  So your feedback on this would be great!

Particularly with this command it has subsections, which is slight different from other commands, but allows layers for contours, color, and labels for the same dataset.  We also wanted to make the data input formats very flexible.
