Color presets and Plots

The Plot command has access to colours as set up in the Style settings. The presets are in some sense limited: for example, in order to have a linearly ascending colormap in the presets, I understand that one would have to use the ColorPicker and select the colours manually. Would it be possible to have a more flexible way to select the colours from arbitrary colour schemes? Or at least to automatically generate new presets (for example, using the Color Suggestion interface)?

Thanks for pointing that out.  The color selector in the Style settings has not been improved in a while.  We’ll think about how to do that.  The Color Suggestion interface may be what we add.
