allow column & command objects to fill space

Some of the text fields/dropdowns in column objects and command objects feel unnaturally cramped. For example, when running DG fullscreen, there is a lot of space that might be better used by showing more of the names.

With that change in place, it’d be awesome to be able to grow/shrink the definitions pane.

We can see where that would be an issue, particularly when you have long column names. We’ll keep this in mind as we move forward. Thanks for your feedback!
