Creating a Multi-Panel Plot

Hello!

I’m looking to create a 9-panel plot with my data – essentially so that it can be visualized easier. Is there a way to do this on DataGraph?

Hi John!

Do you want a 9 by 9 grid of graphs?  If you have a screen shot of something close to what you are looking for that can be helpful.

There are different approaches depending on whether you want the axis to be the same across a row or if each graph has a different axis range.

In general, for creating multiple graphs that share an axis range, use a Split graph. For a grid, you would split the x and y.

You can find some examples by searching the example menu for “split”.

Follow up question –

When naming the various y-axes, is there a way to fit the axis name to the size of the plot rather than it be written out in one continuous line which then overlaps with the others? My axes titles are quite long for the y-axes.

You can force a line break.  For example, here is a graph with a long title.

 

The title is coming from a Text command.

Add ‘\n’ in the text to place the break (i.e., new line).

Then it will wrap to a new line.

You can use this on any text, whether it is coming from a column name or even a label from a text column.
