      Hello!

      Is it possible to reproduce the attached «Voronoi graph»? I haven’t found an example. It’s from «The biomass distribution on Earth» (Bar-On & al. 2018).

      Thanks!

        What is the structure of the data?

        Voronoi is a spatial concept, so it fits better into the scope of ImageTank. So I would guess a column with (x,y) points (i.e. assumed to be the same unit for x,y) and one or more label columns.

        In the above figure, I’m not sure what the regions mean in terms of coordinates. The positions of the centers (x,y) completely determine the size and shape of the region. If the plants coordinate (centered in the green region) was up and to the right suddenly the fungi region would be a lot larger in the above example.

        I realize that the above figure is an example and not your data set, but I’m trying to figure out if you are looking for more of a qualitative picture or a quantitative picture where the areas and their exact location have a meaning.

          think it’s just one of those treemap type graphics, where it’s just the area that matters- like WinDirStat’s display.

          Ahh- yes- Treemapping – https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Treemapping  mentions a Voronoi treemap

            The data represents the biomass of each «kingdom» of life. Here a comparison of the same set but also with pie-charts. The authors explain the usefulness of the Voronoi graph in this case.

            @Tom : interesting! (thanks)
