Saying this column, when I exported them to a sheet, the date in the sheet shows from 2020-02-29 to 2020-08-30.
We are not able to replicate this problem. We tried copy and pasting into a sheet and exported from DataGraph into an xlsx file and then opened in Excel and it is the proper dates.
One known issue for Excel is that the Excel files on Mac and PC save dates differently, by one day. By any chance are you opening the file on a PC? Also, are you opening it with Excel or some other program?
dgteam comment is verified using MacOS 10.14.6 +DataGraph 5.0 + Excel 16.54 with dates generated by DG as shown in the screen capture below.
No PC related test available on my side. However a significant experience on exchanging Excel files between PCs and Macs never showed such issue.
@Jean-Yves Le Stang Thanks for checking on your system and confirming that you have not had any issue with files between PC and Mac Excel files. Also nice demonstration of generating dates!
FYI — In general, every Excel file should contain a flag to let what ever system is using the file know whether the file was created on Mac or PC. In DataGraph, we have a library that writes to the Excel file format. The Excel files we generate should have this flag and hopefully work properly regardless of the system.
UPDATE: Sorry, just going through our change log and we did have some systems with an excel date issue that was fixed in the beta.
@petercreate — Do you have the same problem if you use the beta version?
Good to know this. I happened to use a Mac-App downloaded version. Long months ago, I used the beta version which often jumped off my Mac, and so I changed to this formally released version which is more stable. Just find this bug a few days ago when I was processing some data. Could you quickly update it on the Mac Appstore?
@dgteam, it’s not a big issue. I simply +1 day in excel.
Hi Gents,
When I last reported that it was OK, I had only tested a copy/paste from DG file to an Excel file.
After reading dgteam comment, I tested exporting the file from DG in Excel format (File/Export Data) and I found the same error as reported by Petercreate. See below.
May be I should update my Apps as they are becoming out of age.
@Jean-Yves Le Stan, thanks for digging. From your previous post, I can tell you are using a Mac platform, but was the DG a beta version or a app-store version?
I was for sure downloaded from your Website, so I think it is a beta (I remember a period of time when two versions were available: Last release and beta, and I think that I finally download the beta, but not sure) ?
The only references I can find regarding my DG version are below. I tried to investigate the package content of my App with no success.
I will shortly download again 5.0 from your website and revert.
