      Hi,

When I copy figure with Range Command (color filled) through Edit-Copy Figure, and then paste in powerpoint, I can see the color from Mac, but when I send the powerpoint file to other people using the computer with windows system, the color range didn’t display and the resolution decreases too much.

      Best wishes,

      Peng

When you copy and paste from DataGraph, the program has a pdf and bitmap in the clipboard.  It’s up to the program where it is pasted which one it will accept.

Powerpoint on the Mac has no problem with pdf (vector graphics) so everything looks great, but older versions of Powerpoint on Windows does not accept the vector graphics as noted in this article.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/insert-pdf-file-content-into-a-powerpoint-presentation-5e7719d5-508c-4c07-a3d4-68123c373a62

There can also be an issue with transparencies not working in pdf for some systems, so if your Range has a transparency, that could be why it is disappearing.

It would be interesting to know what version of PowerPoint on windows they were using, but, in any case, here is what we would recommend to solve the problem:

1 – Increase the resolution of the graphic in DataGraph by setting the size to something like 1200 by 675 pixels.  You will probably also need to increase your font and scale the size for viewing, as shown here.

        formt

2 – When you copy, select ‘Copy bitmap (no transparency)’.  That should ensure that you don’t have any problems with transparency.

Let us know if this solves this problem. Good luck!

          Hi,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I tried it. The version of system is Win 10, and the powerpoint is Office 2016. For Copy Figure, no transparency shows in PC’s powerpoint. For the bitmap, it shows the color, but the resolution is not good. I would like to export to tiff file with high dpi resolution and import to powerpoint file. It is not convenience. I regarded this as a bug, but now I have a little understand for this problem.

          Best wishes,

          Peng

We made a change to the current beta to output a higher resolution image by default (either from copy and paste or when exporting an image to a file) . It would be interesting to have you try again in the current beta to see if the image quality is improved.

NOTE:  For anyone who wants to output a lower resolution for a smaller file size, you can still do this but since most users have high resolution screens it seems like it makes sense at this point to make the high resolution the default.
