More types of auto-populated text field variables

When labeling things like “Title” and Text fields, the auto-populated plot-specific variables that you can insert via the “+” dropdown are nice.

It would be really useful to expand this to include other things like:

1. Last imported filename, imagine title = “My Plot (imported from <filename.csv>)”
2. Filename of the current file
3. min/max/mean/etc of a column.  Imagine titles:
   1. “My Histogram (samples from <min(timestamp)> to <max(timestamp)>”
   2. “My Gain Plot (mean = <mean(gainColumn)>, stddev = <stddev(gainColumn)>)”

Does anything like this already exist?

For the third item, it sounds like you are looking for a Number from Column variable. We updated the help article to describe better how this is used in a text label.

For the first and second, you would have to create a text variable that contains the name of the file, but we don’t yet have a variable that automatically populates the name of the file.  Sounds like something you would like 🙂
