      Hi,

I was wondering if there is an easy way to import color presets into style settings?

Also, if there is anyway to change color presets for new graphs (i.e., by opening a new file the new presets are automatically loaded)?

      Thanks,
      Kourosh

If you open a new file and change the colors for the first graph ( in the Style settings), the remaining graphs you add in that file will use those modified colors.

If you already have multiple graphs, you can also use the gear menu and select “Set same style for every graph” to transfer the style settings between graphs.  You can also copy and paste the Style settings from one graph to another, and between files.

1 – Right click on the style settings with the colors you want.

2 – Click on the thumbnail of the graph you want to apply them to.

3 – Use Command-V to paste the settings.

This transfers all the settings not just the colors.

It sounds like what you might be interested in is an overall preferences panel for the color presets?  Or maybe a way to copy just the color menu from one graph to another?

          Hi,

Thank you for your response.  Yes, ideally, I want to have some custom presets as default when I create a new datagraph file.  Is that possible?

          Thanks,
          Kourosh

There used to be way to set up your own template as the default file that would open every time you create a new DG file.  Then you would be able to customize colors etc.  I need to check on the instructions for this to see if that is still possible.

Another idea is to create you own custom templates (File > From User Template).

Here is what the menu looks like when you don’t have any templates.

            Templates

Select Open in Finder to access the template location.  Place a copy of a DataGraph file that has the settings you want into this Finder location.

Once you have a file in the Template folder, the file name will show up as a menu item.  When you hover over a file name, a handy Template Preview pops-up to the side.

            TemplatePreview copy

            Hope this helps!

We will follow up on changing the settings for every new file.

Yes, that would be great to be able to setup a custom template as a default datagraph file.

              Thanks,

In version 5, you should be able to create Custom User templates as before.  Then you access those files from File > From User Template.

From “File > From User Template”, there is an option to “Open in Finder”. That opens the Finder and brings you to the Templates folder, where you place the files you want as templates.

If you go one folder up in the Finder, the folder is called “DataGraph”.   If you place a file here called “New.dgraph” that will be the file that is opened every time you create a new file.

                Does that work for you?
