How can I add a horizontal line over the whole length of the graph at the MEAN value of all points? For example, the mean value of all temperature measurements over a month.

        1. From the “Other” drop Down Menu of the Variable Section you select “Number from Column”.
        2. A new Variable is created (here, called Mean)from which you select your Temperature column and the mean value
        3. From this you create a new “Lines Command”  in your graph, Y Line with “Mean” as value  and gives it the attributes you like

There are other option to get this result (creating a new column where all the row values are “Mean” or adding a function command in your graph where f(x) = “Mean” but the above proposal seems to be the easiest solution.

        I hope it helps

Thank you very much for the fast and detailed reply, Jean-Yves. The image you made was very helpful.

I searched a lot before posting the question, but hadn’t found the mean function in the “Number from Column” section.

We updated the Number from Column help page to explain this more. It also shows some shortcuts.

I hope that helps in the future!
