DataGraph is terrific for incorporating data from many different sources and providing a unified environment for exploring and plotting that data. I would like to suggest the incorporation of a module/tool within DataGraph to produce numerical data from images of plots taken from research papers, maps, etc. There are a few tools I have used to do this, including DataThief and WebPlotDigitizer (web-based and desktop, cross platform). Here is a link to WebPlotDigitizer:
https://automeris.io/WebPlotDigitizer/index.html
which is open-source – the web page contains a link to the source code on GitHub. These tools typically will provide the user the ability to export the resulting data to CSV or similar format, which can easily be read by DataGraph. It would be great to see this functionality built into DataGraph, when you have some spare time (LOL!). Or maybe this is more of an ImageTank job that could be dynamically linked to DataGraph.
On a separate note, would it be possible to develop a plot command that performs various filtering (Butterworth, low/high/bandpass, etc.)? That would be fantastic too.
Thank you, and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Kirk!
Thanks for your feedback. I think the Plot digitizer is more of a possibility for ImageTank, as you suggested. We will also think about the filters, won’t make our next release but will be adding to the to do list 🙂
Thank you for the reply! I bet that to do list is not long at all … LOL. I’d be happy to test these out should they get incorporated into DataGraph/Image Tank.
