Beta Version

Live on the edge. Follow the Beta! The Beta is the development version of DataGraph, where we add and test new features, fix issues, and make improvements.

It is reasonably stable, but transient problems do pop up. They are quickly dealt with, and the beta is occasionally updated daily. If you run the beta, you will be notified when a new version is available. You can choose to skip an update or snooze the notification.

New Features

  • 9/27: 5.2 is out. Resetting the beta.
  • 10/8: The axis background is now clipped when the Box Style is ‘Axis Box’. The axis background is set in the Canvas settings. The Box style is set in the Style settings. For example, here, two graphs are split in the x direction. The axis background is limited to each axis box.
  • 10/19: Added a Gaussian Smoothing option for the Plot Action. Set the Action to ‘Smooth’ and the Method to ‘Gaussian’. Use the slider to adjust the standard deviation. Note that x has to be set, but is not used in the calculation.
  • 10/27: Added a QR code option to the Graphic command.
  • 11/5: Fixed an issue with binary columns and the *.dgraphs file format.
  • 11/21: Added more colormap options for the Scalar Field command, and improved the rainbow color map (changed from Jet to the Turbo colormap, which fixes some issues).
  • 11/23: Fixed an issue with the Magnification command when exporting to PDF and the graphic changed (added a background). The problem was that it should always have included the background when a fill was specified. This only applied when the source range exceeded the current display range.
  • 12/1 : Added an option for the Scalar field command to quickly create a color ramp (gear menu).
  • 12/1 : Improved the color ramp options for the Scalar field.
  • 12/29 : Can now use text columns in the Plot, Points and Bar commands.
  • 1/8 : Fixed an issue with the “Style set” functionality in the Style settings.
  • 1/9 : Fixed a crashing bug in the function fit command (arbitrary fit).
  • 1/24 : Improved “Import File…” when you don’t have any columns selected. Now Excel documents are imported with sheets separated into groups.
  • 2/1 : Added a numerical format option for the token field, ignore leading 0. So 0.14 will be formatted .14.
  • 2/5 : Fixed an issue with creating a movie from a Scalar field.
  • 2/12 : Added a label for the Color ramp legend.
  • 2/19 : Improved the “Force Aspect Ratio”, improved the padding to be symmetric.
  • 2/19 : 5.3 Release candidate.
  • 3/3 : Fixed issues with QR codes exported to PDF, and added an option to add a background.
  • 3/10 : Fixed an issue with dgraphs, where the help bubbles still showed up. Should only appear for new documents.
